Good dogs start here.
Puppy school at Brackenhurst, run by behaviourist Aungenie Scorgie. Three six-week classes, from eight-week-old beginners to older pups who missed out.
The first few months shape the dog they become.
Puppies learn fastest when they're young. What they meet, hear and practise now — other dogs, new people, being handled, settling when asked — stays with them for life.
Puppy school gives them those experiences in a safe, friendly setting, and gives you the support to navigate puppyhood with confidence.
Force-free · Science-based · Small classes · Happy dogs
Three classes, one for every stage.
Each course runs for six weeks and costs R1 300. Classes are held here at Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital.
Hairy Pawter's Puppy Class

Hufflepup
The next step for Puppy 1 graduates, and for older dogs just starting out. Strengthen the skills from Puppy 1, add new ones and build real-life confidence for your growing, energetic pup. Vaccinations must be up to date.
Sherlock Bones

Aungie runs our puppy school. She is a pet behaviourist with her own practice, Pets and Emotion, where she helps owners understand and work through behaviour problems with their pets.
Her classes are force-free and science-based, and kept small so every puppy and owner gets proper attention. The aim is practical skills for everyday life, and a calmer, more connected relationship between you and your dog.
Based in Alberton, Aungie also sees dogs and their families one-to-one for behaviour consultations, at home or online.
